The constant reminder

Dear Republican National Committee, the Illinois Republican Party, Friends of George W. Bush, John McCain, the National Rifle Association, many state and local Republican offices and charities, and our newest member, Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms:

Michael Fosco is no longer able or interested in making a donation to your cause. As I have told, emailed, and/or written each of you numerous times, Michael passed away nearly two years ago. When you call and ask for "Mr. Fosco," I have no idea, at first, you are looking for my deceased father. Once you identify yourself as being the polar opposite of what I follow, I immediately know you are not looking for me. I've tried to be polite. I've tried to ask nicely. I appreciate your emotional expression when you tell me how sorry you are to have bothered me and that you will tell your supervisor to remove his name from your list. Well, that's not necessarily true. At first, I appreciated it. Then, I tolerated it. Now, I'm disgusted by it.

Oh, and by the way, Michael Fosco never lived at my address or answered my telephone.

So, I wonder, how long will it be before I stop getting nearly daily reminders that my father is no longer alive? Why must anonymous people and envelopes that never get opened continue to interrupt me?

Just a quick FYI: I don't need your reminder. I haven't stopped thinking about his death since the moment our family watched him take his last breath.

Please stop.

Cory Fosco
