- I spend a lot of time waiting, specifically in airports;
- I'm amazed that people still use checkbooks. I saw two people today balancing their checkbooks. I am trying to find a way to stop writing checks. If they keep doing it, I will never succeed. My brother's at fault too;
- It's hard to eat healthy when you travel. Places like to use salt, butter, and oil on everything;
- I like the Redbox concept. I can rent a movie in Florida, and return it in Illinois--all for $1
- I wish I followed through with my "Doggie Bag" invention years ago. I'd be relaxing right now instead of waiting for an airplane;
- I just saw a lady carrying her infant child. They were both dressed in an orange dress. I'm not sure who looks more ridiculous. And I think the child is a boy;
- I still have a hard time watching someone talk "hands-free" on a cell phone. Much like my desire to rid the world of paper checks, I am sure people would feel the same way about me when it comes to shoving a plastic speaker in my ear to talk with people;
- I think hats should be brought back as a fashion norm;
- There's a bar in the airport that boasts "Welcome To The CRUZAN ISLANDS". I had to Google it to see where these islands are: a group of islands in the Caribbean that is a part of the Scandinavian Realm. It's also a brand of rum: http://www.cruzanrum.com/main.aspx. It doesn't however, peak my curiosity enough to get me to buy a drink and feel really Welcomed.
- It's been an slow writing day

10 Stray Observations While Waiting for my Flight Home from Ft. Lauderdale

Cory- "Cruzan" is a mid-range rum both in price and quality. They've been trying to get more market saturation for some years now. I first saw and sampled the brand in Nashville in 2003. I currently have two bottles of it in my liquor cabinet. One is Cruzan Single Barrel Estate Rum. I'm only mildly impressed with it. The other is Cruzan Black Strap Rum; again, I'm only mildly impressed. Given the choice, I'd buy a bottle of Goslings Black Seal, which is essentially the same rum but higher quality at a lower or the same price. I don't know how Cruzan plans on getting more market saturation when they have no more distinction than, say, Captain Morgan or Bacardi. They seem to be playing a lot on their name, but I think when it comes down to it, people are going to generally stick with what they know unless they get a stellar recommendation from someone who knows, or if they are at a friends house and try something new. What many people don't seem to realize, though, is that Capt. Morgan and Bacardi are not that great themselves. You can buy a lot better rum for just a little more money. The exceptions I would make to that are Bacardi 1873 and Bacardi Select, both of which are above average.
