Running in the sun

One of the good things about losing 18 pounds is it makes running easier. I'm not a huge running enthusiast, but I know that extra cardio is good for me. I went for a four mile run today with Bob. He's always been a much better runner than me, but today we kept pace pretty evenly. Either he toned it down, or I was able to step-up my game. My body usually hurts a lot after I run. That is, before I lost weight. After the run today, I felt great. My feet didn't ache, my knees didn't hurt, my calves felt strong. I'm not interested in running a marathon or anything, but it made me feel proud of my accomplishment.

My only fear is keeping the weight off. Traveling doesn't help. Summer parties and BBQ's don't help. Eating a Gelati from Rita's doesn't help. Drinking until 2am certainly doesn't help.

I keep telling myself, as long as I keep exercising, my metabolism should be able to hold up. But I know that's not always the case. I haven't stopped working out since I was 14 years old. 18 pounds can be put back on as quickly as they came off, and I just bought a ton of new clothes.
