Our breed

My kids always ask, "what are we." Cyndi is able to answer this question with a lot more ease than me. She is a first generation American on her mother's side (her mother is from Denmark and came here 38 years ago after she married Cyndi's father), and her father's family, is from Poland. I know we have Russian, Polish, and Italian on my side of the family. I just don't know much more. I know my mother's mother was from Russia. I know my mother's father was from Poland. I don't know what specific village each of them came from, but knowing their origins is enough for the kids. My father's father was born in Chicago, but his family came from Italy. My father's mother was also born in Chicago, but her parent's originated from Kiev, Russia and Lithuania. I found this last fact out yesterday. So now I can say I am Russian, Polish, Italian, and Lithuanian.

My kids, when asked this question themselves, can now answer that they are Danish, Russian, Polish, Italian, and Lithuanian.

We are true mutts.
